Today we celebrated the twins' first birthday! We started out with breakfast and naps, then a trip to Volunteer Park in Seattle, where the girls and Alexander got to swim in the wading pool in the sunny weather.
Later in the day, pretty much all our Seattle family was here for a party to celebrate and we had excellent sushi (Nishino! yum!), some wonderful presents (thanks, everyone) and a terrific carrot cake that maa-maa made.
The girls have been doing great -- Sydney stood up by herself for the first time on her birthday, and Piper is so close to taking first steps. Not only are we proud of them, but we are pretty amazed that WE have survived this long!

Can't believe these girls will be a year old soon. They're now crawling all over the place, cruising around our family room, and Piper can say "HI" while Sydney can say "BYE BYE". Goes pretty fast...
Can't believe the time is going so fast!
Today, I (Kristina) gave the twins their first hair trim. In hindsight, I should have done it months earlier.
No more ponytail long sideburns for these girls!

Seven months... can't believe we've survived this long. the girls are JUST sitting up ... Sydney's pretty good at it, but Piper is pretty wobbly. They need haircuts too, eh?
