We celebrated our 10-year anniversary this year, and our gracious Seattle-based relatives gave us a week of babysitting... so we headed back to Costa Rica, where we visited when we first started dating. We spent 2.5 days at Lapa Rios -- a well known eco-lodge on the southern tip of the remote Osa Peninsula, and 2.5 days at the very-nice Exclusive Resorts Poro Poro resort.

Can't believe our little guy is now SIX! He's had a heck of a september, starting kindergarten at a new school, going on a couple good trips with the family, and wrapped it up with two birthday parties...

We joined the Shields family for a huge Summer Vacation bonanza on Lake Chelan to celebrate Kristine's big 40th birthday. There were...
- 2 rental houses, one for the 4 families with young kids, one for "adult" family members
- 1 room in our house that housed all SEVEN kids (not including the three 2-year olds)
- 4 consecutive days of wakeboarding (yeah! I'm still sore!)
- Family friend who's an ex-pastry-chef... YUM!
- A giant water balloon fight
- An afternoon at "Slidewaters"
- And... soccer, baseball, great food, fresh blueberries, Norwegian salmon... aah.
Alexander's tee-ball league this year was more serious than in past years... full uniforms, clay field ... perfect opportunity for taking photos! i dug out the big lens and pretended I was a sports photographer. Fun!
Alexander and Daddy made it up to Snoqualmie for 6 days of skiing this year... and we decided that we should get some REAL (not just green runs) action in up at Whistler for 2 days. So, we grabbed John Tippett and Mia, and headed up to the Great White North.
Lucky for us... PERFECT SUNNY WEATHER! Kids in lessons! What a formula for massive leg burn. killer!
