Kristina sent the mail below yesterday afternoon:

Subject: Piper rolled over today
For the first time, Piper rolled over today: front-to-back. Lorrie was with her the first time she did it. It must have scared her a little, because she cried.
And I got to see her do it this afternoon. She looked a little stunned but didn’t cry this time.
Woo hoo!
As some of you have already heard (or read), it can sure be tiring to have twin babies. So much so that sometimes the 4-year old pays the price.
Case in point: a few weeks ago it was school picture day at Alexander's school, and we sent him in for pictures like this. See the problem?
Yep, his shirt is on backwards. Silly parents.
Fortunately they do retakes.
Both fun tidbits sent in by Brian F. Did you know...
1) Chipanzees are able to do "brain-age" type problems better than humans. Watch both videos on this page:

It'd been about 30 years since I'd spent a day at Sea World, and we figured it'd be a fun day for Alexnader and Serena, and not too hard to drag the twins around. Turned out we were right. Here's my ratings:
+ Dolphin feeding. DEFINITELY the highlight... at 4:30pm you could buy sardines and feed the mammals. Nancy took Z and Serena and got them plenty of fish -- Alexander (Z) just BEAMED every time he handed a fish to the dolphins. He LOVED it, and we got some great photos.
+ Shamu Express rollercoaster (Alexander's first!), the Shamu kids play area. Had me really tired out climbing rope ladders for an hour in the 80+ degree weather.
+ Arctic Adventure, featuring a ride on the Polar Express. The kids got to see Santa at he North Pole.
- Shamu show ("Believe"). THis was TERRIBLE! we wondered whether the regular whale was sick or something. There were like only 4 whale jumps, and a huge amount of upbeat music with trainers trying to get the audience to clap. I would FOR SURE skip this next time. :(
Goodbye, Sunny Florida! We'll miss you!
Today at Nancy's house we took the twins swimming for the first time ever! We started out by walking them into the pool... and at about 76 degrees, they weren't too fond of that idea. Surprisingly, Sydney (who is usually more calm and mellow) was crying and crying as I lowered her into the water while her usually more sensitive sister was very zen about the whole thing.
We didn't stay in the pool for long -- and instead opted for the hot tub. Both girls were a lot more pleased with that move, and we hung around and floated for a good twenty minutes or so. Babies sure are buoyant!
Hey there family and friends around the US... especially those of you on the West Coast... it's mid-70s today in Fla... but cloudy with a bit of rain! Alexander and I MIGHT go swimming anyway!
We just finished our tasty Thanksgiving dinner at Merrie and Dusty's house, and we figured in advance of the dessert course (cherry pie, pumpkin chiffon, pecan pie with chocolate chips and coconut) we'd share with you a few quick photos of our delicious and bountiful feast. We had not just one turkey -- but THREE -- including one deep-fried cajun style (see pic at right).
A special shout-out to everyone at Carole's ... we'll look for a post from Les or Carole by the end of the night with pics of YOUR dinner. Check back in a couple of hours to see our dessert.
