Paragliding! Last gasp of summer fun in Seattle
last year at a charity auction, I bid on a tandem paragliding flight... and won. So, this past monday I took advantage of the last few days of warm sunny weather in seattle (lucky us... mid-september!) and headed up to Tiger Mountain to soar with the birds.
Kristina brought Alexander along and they took some video. After i landed, Kristina said "wow, that looks so cool ... I want to try it to!" and she signed Bob the instructor up for a flight the very next day. Later that evening we were visiting Kevin Shields, who was celebrating his birthday, and we invited him to join in as well.
So... on Tuesday afternoon, Kevin and Kristina also hit the mountain. Although Kristina's flight included (1) a false start at the launch, (2) not catching thermals so she landed before Kevin even though he took off first, and (3) missing the landing zone (!) ... everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed it. We'd recommend this for anyone.
